Job Summary:

The Camillo Companies Legal Department is growing and we are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, excellent legal research and writing skills, and a passion for resolving both routine and novel legal disputes.Β  This role will report to the General Counsel.Β  Hybrid schedule subject to necessity to appear in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations and the like.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel and representation in various litigation matters relating to RCLA, construction law, contract disputes, tort claims, landlord-tenant and employment law.
  • Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent the company in court proceedings, including trials, depositions, and hearings.
  • Represent the company in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolutions with opposing counsel.
  • Advise and counsel internal clients on legal risks and compliance matters.
  • Manage outside counsel and litigation vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal developments and industry trends.

  • Excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, detail-orientation and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with advanced conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in English. Must be able to articulate needs and convey information verbally and in writing effectively with employees, customers, supervisors, and co-workers throughout the organization.
  • Knowledge of management methods and sound employee relations techniques with an ability to connect to staff, troubleshoot problems and help teams collaborate, as necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Admission to the Texas bar.
