The Opportunity  Â
As part of the Office of General Counsel, you provide legal support in the field of corporate law. As a director, you set the strategic direction, lead business development efforts, and oversee multiple projects while maintaining impactful executive-level client relations. This role involves managing corporate transactions, evaluating legal risks, and translating complex legal issues for business audiences. Â

Responsibilities Â
- Provide legal support in corporate law matters, including M&A transactions Â
- Manage corporate transactions and assess legal risks Â
- Translate complex legal issues for business audiences Â
- Maintain impactful client relations at the executive level Â
- Oversee multiple projects to confirm strategic alignment Â
- Set strategic direction for corporate legal initiatives Â
- Foster a culture of compliance and innovation Â
- Confirm successful management of legal risks in corporate transactions Â

What You Must Have Â
- Juris Doctorate Â
- 5 years of experience in progressively responsible post-qualification legal experience in the field of corporate law, either at a recognized law firm (or a combination of law firm and in-house) Â
- Admitted to practice law in at least one US state and in good standing Â

- Expertise in corporate law, M&A, partnership law, commercial transactions, and regulatory analysis Â
- Experience with governance, financing, cross-border contracts, and employment/tax/IP matters Â
- Ability to identify and manage legal risks, propose solutions, and escalate critical issues Â
- Skilled in translating complex legal matters for business leaders Â
- Experience managing teams, external counsel, and high-level projects Â
- Skilled in negotiation, risk assessment, and contract drafting Â
- Understanding of corporate governance and cross-border contracting Â
- Ability to identify legal issues in business proposals Â
- Competent legal negotiation and drafting skills Â
- Experience managing teams and complex projects Â

For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
