P5SUMMARY:
Tysonβs Regulatory law group is seeking to add a new member to our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to navigate cutting edge legal regulatory issues and projects in the food, animal, and agriculture spaces.Β The role is responsible for advising the business and providing legal counsel on a variety of federal and state regulatory matters with an emphasis on areas including packaging materials and circularity, government contracting, chemicals of concern, environmental matters, transportation regulations, regulation of food and feed products, and commodities trading.
The ideal candidate will have experience in specialized government response and investigations, including those in administrative, civil, and criminal matters. Candidates should have experience engaging with state and federal regulators. Candidates should also be well-equipped to digest and provide counsel on complex legal concepts, practices, and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops creative and legally sound solutions for business initiatives that raise legal questions.
Navigates an increasingly complex regulatory environment and counsels on new and emerging requirements, providing commercial solutions and options to cross-functional stakeholders.
Advocates on the companyβs behalf, as necessary, with applicable local, state, and federal regulatory and enforcement authorities.
All candidates must be able to work collaboratively. Candidates must exhibit the executive presence, forward thinking, competence, and professionalism needed to earn the trust of members of the companyβs senior management team.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Law degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
Experience : 4 plus years of legal experience or equivalent combination of experience, specialized certification, licensure or advanced degree.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Special Skills: A team player who effectively communicates with and responds to clients in a timely manner. Must work independently and exercise excellent judgment in performing all tasks.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
