JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.Β The ideal candidate will have strong contract negotiation skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, supply agreements, service agreements, licensing agreements, and NDAs
- Provide legal guidance on structuring commercial deals, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Assist in developing and improving contract templates, policies, and processes to drive efficiency and scalability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal business teams to optimize contract terms and mitigate risk
- Provide legal advice to the company on other commercial matters and projects as assignedΒ
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 3+ years strong experience with commercial contracts and transactions.Β In-house experience is preferred but not a requirement.Β
- Experience in partnering with business teams to mitigate risk while supporting business goalsΒ
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with business partners and legal team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
- Excellent analytical skills to identify potential legal issues proactively and develop practical solutions

REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Juris Doctor required
- Minimum 3 years strong experience with commercial contracts and transactions
- Licensed attorney in good standing; active status in minimum of one state; admitted to practice in one or more states.Β Ability to get Ohio Corporate Counsel license if not already licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
