Position Summary:
Welcome to InTown Suites! We are currently seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to work at our corporate office in Atlanta, GA. The Associate Corporate Counsel will assist in managing our company's legal affairs, with a particular focus on contract drafting and review, compliance matters, and litigation oversight, in line with company policies and objectives.
I. Position Responsibilities: Essential
- Assist the General Counsel in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research on industry-specific regulations, corporate governance, and employment law matters.
- Support compliance efforts by monitoring changes in laws and regulations affecting the hospitality industry.
- Help manage litigation matters, including coordinating with outside counsel and gathering necessary documentation.
- Assist in risk management initiatives and provide legal guidance to various departments within the company.
- Prepare and maintain corporate records, policies, and legal correspondence.
- Review and provide recommendations on employment law matters, including policies, training, and dispute resolution.
- Support real estate and development activities, including due diligence and transactional documentation.
- Handle other legal and administrative tasks assigned by the General Counsel.
- The position will be physically located in the Atlanta office; working remotely (outside of Company Directed Guidelines) is not permitted.Β Currently, the in-office work model is a hybrid with 2 days remote/3 days in the office.
II. Essential Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
- 1-3 years of legal experience, preferably in corporate law, real estate, hospitality, or compliance.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
III. Mental and Physical Demands
Work Environment:
- Typical office environment β moderate noise level.
Physical Demands:
- Indoor work with hard and carpeted surfaces.
- Sitting for eight (8) hour shifts.
- This position is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Extensive use of hands and fingers for manipulation of keyboard, answering phone calls (100% of the time).
- The person in this position frequently communicates with employees/vendors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Travel Demands:
- This position requires less than 20% travel; however, from time to time, and depending on the project, travel needs could change.
